Josh Hart has been one of the New York Knicks’ most indispensable players all postseason. The 31-year-old does everything New York needs, and his value goes well beyond the box score. His absence would leave a real hole in both ends of the floor.

Hart exited late in the third quarter of Game 2 against the 76ers with a left-hand injury and headed to the locker room, sending concern through the Knicks fan base. CBS Sports reported Hart was cleared to return after being checked in the locker room and was able to close out the match. He is now listed questionable for Game 3 with what Underdog NBA reports as a thumb issue.

Josh Hart Listed Questionable for Game 3 vs. 76ers

Underdog NBA reports Hart is questionable for Friday’s Game 3 due to a thumb injury. The update came fresh off his late-game scare in New York’s 108-102 Game 2 victory.

In seven postseason appearances, Hart is averaging 9.9 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. His all-around presence has been a constant for a Knicks team building momentum deep into the playoffs.

In Game 2, the Knicks used Hart at center during a small-ball stretch when Karl-Anthony Towns was in foul trouble, with OG Anunoby also sliding to the five. That shape-shifting lineup is one of New York’s real playoff weapons. Losing Hart limits those options considerably.

The Knicks are up 2-0 in the series, and the series now moves to Philadelphia for Game 3 on Friday, followed by Game 4 on Sunday. If Hart can’t go, Landry Shamet and Jordan Clarkson figure to absorb additional minutes off the bench.

Knicks vs. 76ers Game 3 tips off Friday night in Philadelphia. Tip time and broadcast details to be confirmed.
