Aliyah Boston is the defensive backbone of the Indiana Fever. Indiana rewarded her commitment by signing her to a four-year, $6.3 million extension, the richest total salary in WNBA history. When she is on the floor, the Fever are a legitimate contender. When she is not, the cracks show fast.
Boston has been dealing with a lower-body injury dating back to the Unrivaled season, which caused her to miss the end of her Phantom BC team’s campaign and the FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament in March, where she was set to compete for Team USA. Indiana entered 2026 hoping that chapter was behind them. In two games this season, Boston had averaged 13.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks.
On Friday, Indiana couldn’t contain the Mystics’ drives to the rim after Boston went down and lost 104-102 in overtime despite a vintage Caitlin Clark performance. The Mystics outrebounded the Fever 44-29.
Aliyah Boston Listed Questionable Against Seattle Storm
Per Fever reporter Chloe Peterson, Boston is questionable with a lower leg injury for Sunday’s game against the Seattle Storm, after she checked out of Friday’s game in the third quarter and did not return. When asked about Boston’s status postgame, Fever head coach Stephanie White said, “I don’t have any information on that. I haven’t spoken to our medical staff yet.”

The timing could not be worse for Indiana, with the Storm coming to town on a nationally televised afternoon tip. After Boston’s injury, Fever fans’ frustration with the front office grew, stemming from the team’s decision not to add more frontcourt depth during the offseason. Indiana’s only frontcourt additions were Monique Billings, Myisha Hines-Allen and Damiris Dantas, none of whom provide the same rim protection Boston offers.
The Fever will host the Seattle Storm on Sunday, May 17, at 6 p.m. ET on Peacock and NBCSN from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
