Jonathan Isaac has been one of the most injury-plagued players in the NBA throughout his career, and his 2025-26 season is no different. The 28-year-old forward aggravated his left knee sprain in mid-March and has not appeared in a game since. Isaac has missed 20 of Orlando’s last 21 games, and his playoff debut remains in serious jeopardy.
Isaac’s role with the Magic this season had already been limited before the injury. He averaged just 2.6 points, 2.5 rebounds and 10.0 minutes per game in the 2025-26 regular season, slipping well down the rotation as Orlando’s frontcourt depth continued to develop around Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner.
The Magic and Pistons are now tied 3-3, with everything on the line in a winner-take-all Game 7 tonight in Detroit.
Jonathan Isaac Listed Doubtful For Game 7 vs. Detroit
The Magic are listing Isaac as doubtful with a left knee sprain ahead of a fourth consecutive playoff contest, making it highly unlikely he suits up for the decisive game. The Magic downgraded Isaac from doubtful to out for Game 6, and he did not appear to be in line for Game 7 either based on his lack of on-court activity in practice.
The injury report is already crowded for Orlando. Franz Wagner has been ruled out with a right calf strain, missing his second consecutive game, putting extra pressure on the supporting cast. With Wagner sidelined, Jamal Cain, Anthony Black and Tristan da Silva are all expected to see increased roles.
Paolo Banchero delivered 45 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in Game 5 for Orlando to keep the Magic alive, and another massive performance from their star will be needed tonight.
Game 7 between the Orlando Magic and Detroit Pistons tips off Sunday, May 3, at 3:30 PM ET.
